Sending your applications' data to Salesforce
Updated yesterday

In this article, we discussed the different methods available to you for connecting applications to each other. Thanks to Clustdoc tool, you have plenty of options :)

In this article, we'll explain how you can connect Clustdoc to one of our customers' favourite CRMs: Salesforce.

ⓘ For your success, integration projects should be managed by your technical team or IT manager.

Using Clustdoc, you can collect data from your contacts using the online form module. This module allows you to create and display as many forms as you like, whether visible externally or internally, in your processes (and therefore future applications).

Sending data from your Clustdoc applications to Salesforce

Quick tip for getting ready

To send data from a Clustdoc form to another application, note that you will need to create a matching between the fields to Zapier.

For example: ‘Name’ field (Clustdoc) equals ‘First Name’ field (Salesforce). This implies that there will need to be appropriate destination fields in the target application so that Zapier can send the information to the right place.

In the case of an identical mapping, we advise you to prepare your fields meticulously to correspond perfectly.

Starting the integration process

1. Sign in to Zapier

3. Choose the trigger for sending the data from the Clustdoc side. For example: when the file is ‘submitted’. Here is the list of Clustdoc triggers.

4. On the Salesforce side, the data must be sent in two stages, so choose two successive actions: ‘Find Record in Salesforce’ and ‘Update Record in Salesforce’.

5. Your Zap should therefore look something like this

The Clustdoc trigger

As mentioned above, you can choose the Clustdoc trigger that makes the most sense for your business needs.

Focus on the Salesforce action: Find Record

ⓘ If the data you are looking for does not appear in the Zapier application, you may need to speak directly to the person who set up your Salesforce account.

6. Add the ‘Find Record’ action and configure it

7. Let's take a look at the rest of this configuration together

• (#1) First, you must select the right type of ‘Object’ (Opportunity, Contact, Custom Object, etc.). Salesforce will automatically fill in this information.

• (#2) Then select the field that will enable you to search for the desired Object in Salesforce.

For example, if you choose the email address, you will need to choose the Salesforce email field and the email field of the Clustdoc application (the two must correspond) to send the files to the right place.

• (#3) Select the value of the field on the Clustdoc side

Focus on the Salesforce action: Update Record

You're almost there! All you have to do now is configure the ‘Salesforce “Record” update’ part

• Add the second action ‘Update Record’ and start the configuration

• Start the mapping between the fields of your Clustdoc form and your Salesforce form
