Clustdoc provides an Advanced Electronic Signature (AES) mechanism fully compliant with the European eIDAS Regulation (EU No. 910/2014), ensuring high levels of signer authentication, document integrity, and traceability for all signed files. The signature workflow relies on a dual-layer validation process:
Explicit expression of consent through a handwritten signature captured digitally (mouse or touch input), allowing the signer to clearly manifest their intent;
Strong authentication performed via a One-Time Password (OTP) sent by SMS/Email, establishing a unique, personal, and verifiable link between the signer and the signature operation.
Once the signer has successfully completed the authentication steps, Clustdoc automatically generates the final PDF document and applies a GlobalSign-issued electronic certificate to ensure document sealing and integrity. This certificate provides cryptographic guarantees allowing any subsequent alteration of the document to be detected, in accordance with the requirements of Article 26 of the eIDAS Regulation. The certificate is embedded within the PDF according to industry standards (X.509 / PAdES), providing long-term verification capabilities and ensuring cross-platform validation.
Each signature operation is accompanied by a comprehensive audit trail, including timestamps, signer identification elements, IP address, OTP verification events, user agent, and all technical logs related to the signing session. This evidence package is securely stored and can be provided for compliance, dispute resolution, or regulatory reviews.
This architecture meets all requirements for Advanced Electronic Signatures, ensuring:
reliable identification of the signer,
exclusive control of the signing process by the signer,
document integrity protected by a GlobalSign certificate,
and full traceability of the signature lifecycle.
This solution is suitable for contractual, administrative, HR, financial, and operational documents requiring a robust and legally enforceable electronic signature across the European Union.
