The secure messaging system allows you to communicate easily with recipients and teammates. Using this feature, you can send external/internal messages or mention team members in any messages (whether external or internal) if you need.
In this tutorial, we'll learn about the following topics.
- How to use the new messaging system
- What is the @mention feature
- Examples of messages sent
How to use the messaging system
1- Go a client application page
2- In the Sidebar, click on Message Inbox then click on the New message button
💡The first field is your distribution list. All people listed there will receive a notification and may be able to view the message.
3- Type in names in the diffusion list field. By default, your recipient's name will be added in blue so you can easily send external messages.
What is the @mention ( at mention) feature
1- Type in @name in your text to mention someone from your team.
Examples of messages sent
In the following scenario, the message sent is external.
The person listed in the diffusion list (client=in blue) will receive a notification as well as the teammate tagged in the message. If the teammate has the right to access this application they'll be able to take action and/or reply.
In this situation, the message is internal.
Teammates added to the list will all receive a notification. However as none of them was specifically mentioned in the text, the message will be applicable to both. If the teammates have the right to access this application they'll be able to take action and/or reply.
In this scenario, the message is internal. By typing in 'Team' the entire team will be notified about this message. The teammates who have the right to access this application will be able to take action and/or reply.
