Stakeholders vs Signers: What are the differences?

Important Note: "Stakeholders" is a premium feature paid monthly: 7-day free trial, cancel anytime, activate it with a Booster or a Platinum plan.

If you've used the e-contracts feature to build signing workflows, you may have noticed 2 different concepts we've mentioned:

    1. Stakeholders and,

    2. Signers

Example of a process involving stakeholders and signers

The stakeholders

In the above example, we have 3 stakeholders:

  1. One primary contact who is always the person invited to start the process/create an application

  2. Plus, two secondary stakeholders who will access some steps of the checklist

The stakeholders who need to sign = the signers

Out of the 3 stakeholders, we want 2 people to see the e-contract line item and to sign it

  1. We need to assign them to the e-contract, so they will see it

  2. We need to add them as signers in the document to be signed, so they can sign it
